The internet features being touted by Samsung are very rudimentary. The interface is clunky and slow. I've also discoverd that you can't really search You Tube. It appears the Samsung search engine is limited for some mysterious reason. Face Book is a limited experience as well. And I fail to understand why the home media network won't play wav audio files. The file structure is also confusing. The whole thing seems rooted in 1980's technology. Samsung has a long way to go to make this an enjoyable experience."

I love the player and find it easy to use. Good features. The only complaint I have is that it will not hold my Netflix activation code for more than three or four days without having to reactivate. To reactivate it must be done on your computer. Since my computer is located upstairs, this means I have to find a pen and paper, write down the activation number, go upstairs and call up Netflix and enter the code. This puts a damper on instant viewing of Netflix. From what I can determine from researching the web, this seems to be a Samsung problem that they have either been unwilling to address or don't seem to care. Other than that the player is excellent. I would give it 5 stars if it were not for that."

We purchased this, along with a Samsung 6500 series LED TV & Samsung home theatre system. The receiver that came with the home theatre was faulty and within 2 weeks of purchase we needed a replacement. We called Samsung several times, and their customer service was the worst we've ever experienced. We were hung up on repeatedly and spent over five hours on the phone. They only would let us send in the unit for repair - which would take 3-6 weeks on a receiver that was 2 weeks old. They refused to stand by their products or issue a new unit. After a lot of frustration, we called amazon, who overnighted us a new one with a 5 minute phone call. (We are Prime customers.)
This morning we get up and the blu-ray player won't power up. It's 2 months old. Samsung is again refusing to stand by their products. Build quality on these components is abysmal, support is non-existant, and customer service is horrible. Based on this I don't recommend this product. We were looking forward to spending Labor Day weekend watching some new Blu-Ray titles, now we will spend it on the phone. Samsung will only let us return it for repair, which again will take weeks.
One thing to note - when we called they told us the labor warranty only lasts three months and if you fail to register the unit they will go by the build date from the serial number. So because we neglected to register, our unit, which again is only 2 months old, is out of warranty. It fell out of warranty the week after we bought it. Is that not completely ridiculous?
We are in our 30's, very tech savvy, and don't have kids. So this isn't simply user error or the kids breaking the unit. I am just amazed at how bad the build quality is.
My boyfriend just got off the phone with Amazon while I was typing this, they will replace the blu-ray too! Yay! We are amazed they will take it back after 2 months. Thank you Amazon for standing by what you sell even when the manufacturer won't! Samsung could learn a lot from your customer service.
Now after having 2 out of 3 Samsung components break in the first 2 months, I am just praying our TV isn't next. When these products work they are great, but build quality is extremely poor."

Received the unit from Amazon very promptly. Setup was straightforward, although a little confusing. Connected to the internet easily via ethernet cable. However DVD play was a serious problem. The unit would randomly generate a "pop" in the audio like the effect of lighting on AM radio audio, also causing the video to go blank. This would last about 1 second.I tried several DVDs,-all the same. Checked the forums and many others have had the same unresolved problem. I performed all the firmware updates,-no luck; problem is persistent. Strange that it only occurs with DVDs. Since the unit replaced a previous first gen Samsung Blu-ray player I do not believe it is either the cables or other connections or the TV. Hard to believe that a product with such a fundamental flaw was released into the market place. Other than not working for its primary mission, it seemed to work well (:)), liked the remote, setup, clarity of picture etc.,
I am returning the unit to Amazon. Amazon customer service is fantastic! Generated the RMA and printed a UPS return label in moments. Hat's off to Amazon and Bezos."

Got this model with builtin wifi as I wanted the ability watch streaming video from the internet - youtube, netflix, picassa etc.
Bluray performance is great.
The remote usability for configuring the wifi, especially entering the 26 character security key was tortuous. Samsung engineering...pl think of something to make it simple.
Initially this unit was not connecting to my wifi router (linksys wireless G) as it was almost 30 ft away. The unit instead of giving an error message that the signal level was not adequate to make the connection, just gives a generic message that it failed to get the IP address from the router. This message went away once I got the range extender and and was able to get a stronger signal level near the bd-c6500.
The performance of streaming video over wifi is excellent once you have an excellent wifi connection.
